Wiring a 12W7 to a Directed 1100d

How do I wire a 12W7 to a Directed 1100d amp? The Sub is Svc 3 ohm. Can I just bridge the amp to get the 1100 watts out of it or what?

I tried bridging a RF 1100a2 to a w7 and my amp would overheat and shut off if you bump it too long.

Well thats not good... What kind of power does that amp put out? what do you think the cause was?

the 1100d is not a good amp for the w7 at all. you want to give your sub about 1000-1200 watts rms, and the 1100d probably does like 500 watts at 3 ohms. would be better to go with a phoenix gold tanrum 1200.1 or a jl 1000/1

I thought it had 2 channels //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif I'm doing this for my friend, and he already has the amp, just waiting to get the subwoofer and he is dead set on JL.

get the one that is dual 3 ohm voice coils, i think thats the 13w7 or w/e, you will get the most power out of your amp with that one.

I had a 13in and bridged the RF 1100a2 which puts out 1100@4 ohms. but the amp was easily underrated and put out probably 1300.

it wouldnt be a waste, but it certainly would be underpowered by a ton
