I can understand the desire to learn how to set this up, but honestly, if the tips that were given on page 1 seem confusing to you then you NEED to find someone who knows how to wire that up. You need to pay very close attention while this is happening so that you can learn something.
If you still insist on trying this yourself, I will attempt one time to help you. Each sub has 2 coils, for a total of 4 terminals-2 positive and 2 negative. In parallel wiring, on each sub, connect the 2 positives to each other and the 2 negatives to each other. This will give you a total load of half of the orginal impedance. Example: dvc 4 ohm sub in parallel makes an end load of 2 ohms. If you have 2 subs, after you have connected the coils in parallel, you then wire the subs together the same way, positives to each other and negatives to each other. You will then have a single positive and a single negative wire for the pair of subs for you to connect to the amp at a total load of 1 ohm.
sub1
4ohm+ -
....... | |....2ohms+ -
4ohm+ -..............
.........................
sub2...................| | 1ohm + - ( these get hooked to the speaker outputs of the amplifier for a 1 ohm load)
4ohm+ -..............
....... | |... 2ohms+ -
4ohm+ -
That is one pair of dvc 4 ohm subs. In my sig, I have 8 dvc 4 ohm subs wired at a total load of 1 ohm. To achieve that, I wired each pair of subs as I described above. Then I wired a pair of subs to another pair of subs in parallel to get a 1/2 ohm load. At this point I have 2 sets of 4 subs each, with each set showing a 1/2 ohm load. Then I wired the 2 sets in series to each other for a total load of 1 ohm.
Series:
1/2 ohm + - > to amp negative
...........|....................................1ohm load
1/2 ohm - + > to amp positive
Notice that I wired the pos of one set to the neg of the other set. That left me with 1 pos and 1 neg wire to connect to the amp. You can also do this on a sub. With the same dvc 4 sub as up top, wired in series you will achieve an 8 ohm load. 2 of those subs wired to each other in parallel will give a 4 ohm load per pair. 1 pair of subs wired to another pair of subs in parallel will give a 2 ohm load. A 4 sub set at 2ohms wired in parallel to another 4 sub set at 2ohms will give you a 1ohm total load for all 8 subs.
If this is confusing to you, hire somebody to do it for you, or find a new, less confusing hobby.... like collecting cabbage patch kids or something.
