Wiring 2 R-10's to RF punch 801s and pioneer HU?

Ok... me and a friend put in my 4 channel amp in my car no problem. Now I alone am putting the amp and subs in. I have distibution blocks for my power/ground, got that out of the way. RCA cables are also ran, but I have 2 open RCA jacks on the back of my deck, one normal and one that says rear speakers. Would rear speakers be subs? I know how to wire the subs themselves I think.. would I just run half of the speaker wire (like the positive side) to all of the positive places on sub and same with the negative except to all the negatives? Also... Can R-10's be free-aired until ?I get done with my box? Thanks for any help,

-Tyler

the 2 sets of RCAs are supposed to run your front 2, and rear 2 speakers... in this case it sounds like you've got the front RCAs running to your 4ch amp. so yes, you run the rear RCAs to your sub amp. that's exactly how mine is setup. the only downer is, you won't be able to fade between your front speakers, and your rear speakers, so get those levels set up how you like them at the amp.

as for how to wire your subs, that can vary a lot. in order to tell you more precisely how to wire them up for a certain load, we will need more info. what amp, what ohm-loads can it run stable? what subs, are they dual voice coil, or single voice coil? what is the RMS wattage of both your amp and subs?

they are DVC 4 ohm... my amp is stable at 2 or 4 ohms.. the subs can take about 400 rms each.. bridged my amp puts out 800 watts @ 4 ohms, 2 channel is does 400 watts @ 2 ohms.

i don't know if it's "safe" to run those subs free-air, but i know they'll sound like ass, if you end up being able to hear them at all. i'd just wait for the enclosure.

also, do you mean PG's R-10s? if so, i thought those were 400 peak, and 200 RMS... just thinking out loud...
