Wiring 2 KX2500's to 1 Solo X 18?

You could prolly get a good amount if you sold those 2 2500s, not that their not good amps, but in ur situation not quite what you are lookin for
Get yourself a bigger amp or 2 other amps that are strappable and ur set

But you have to set the gain on the amp to the same voltage so it moves both coils the same amount, if you want to use the 2500s
Yea, thats what I was thinking. I only have 1 2500 right now though.....I was looking at getting another if this dual amp thing woulda worked. I think your absolutely right though. I guess I'll buy the 18 and run it off my 1 2500 and see how it sounds. If it doesnt move good enough, then Ill do what you said and get a different amp. Thank you everyone for your input.

Yeh....itll get plenty loud man
Good luck with it, come hit up some USACI shows in Baton Rouge next year...id like to hear it
Heck yea..... I didnt even know that there were shows in Baton Rouge....thats only about 2 hours from my house. Id def. go to some shows if I knew some info on them. Right now I have 2 CVX 12's on the kx2500 in a blowthrough. Ive done all the work on the truck. Let me get some pics of the truck.

You don't have to worry about matching the coils as exactly as it everyone seems to be saying. If one coil is getting 2400W and the other coil is getting 2700W it's not going to matter as long as they are in phase. Picture it like a line of guys in a tug of war match. As long as they are all pulling together (in phase), it doesn't matter if one of them is pulling harder than the rest. 2 KX2500.1s on a Solo x, one to each coil, will work fine with minimal effort in setting them close to each other.

However, from what I read, the solo X isn't going to handle 5000W daily. 5000W only applies when playing tones near tuning frequencies. I think the daily rating is more like 2500W. ... at least that's the conclusion I had after reading the manual a bit. Maybe someone else here can give some better information.

[edit] ... I can't find the information I thought I had read in the latest manuals, but I do see other posts with people making the same comment.

the voice coil on my solox 18 unwound running amps that were not matched, one of my zx2500.1's clamps at 2550 and the other clamps 2733, now with my JBL 6000 gti it lives well on 7,000 + watts. same enclosure same install just different amps.

When i first put the two 2500's on it it took two burps and i could smell the coil cooking, after it flew apart and i replaced the spair and the amps with the JBL it has gotten warm enough to smell the glue but not enought to cook it
