Wiring 2 4 channel amps

Currently I am running an Alpine PDX 4.150 active. That amp does not have preamp outputs. For some rear fill, I purchased an Eclipse XA4000. I plan to rewire my setup tomorow by running my front sage off of the Eclipse amp and running a set or RCAs into the Alpine to run the rears. Question I have is by doing so, is the Alpine amp going to run run 2 channels or all 4? Just wondering, I probably won't use all 4 channels, but I could end up selling it being that I don't need an almost 400 dollar amp running my rear speakers.

The alpine will still run in 4 channel mode.

I have a Diamond D3 400.2 that has preamp outs LMK if you are interested, I wouldn't mind having a 4-channel on my Helix Comps in the rear as well.

The 400.2 does 100wrms @ 4 ohm

BTW the eclipse has preamp outs if you wanted to run the rear channel RCA's to that first then run it from there to the Alpine

I'll mess around with the setup. I also bought a Kicker KX 200.2 before I realized the Alpine didn't have preouts. If all goes well with the Eclipse, I might just sell the Alpine.
