Wires to amp

I unplugged my power and ground wires to my amp. they acidently touched causing a spark. I plugged them back In and the amp won't turn back on. Do I restrip both of them and start over or do I have to get brand new wires?

well you look at it bud...there should be a little strip of metal connecting each end, if it's all burned up and broken then it's blown.

Well if it's not then you have bigger problems. When you touched the wires together, were either of them connected or touching your amp?

Most likely, you blew the fuse, so before we digress and start exploring every little thing that could be wrong, go check the **** thing...

what kind of fuse is it? Theres basically 3 main types, AGU, ANL, and mini ANL. AGU looks like a cylinder, ANL is a large flat rectangle (about 1 inch x 2 inch in size), and mini ANL looks just like ANL but, well, smaller...

If your not sure just google the names and find a picture. After you know what type of fuse it is, look at your current fuse and see what the rating is (ex. 200A) then just look on ebay or on here for somebody selling the type of fuse you need. It's usually less than 5 bucks depending on what type of fuse you need.

If you buy a fuse in the store, you'll probably end up paying like 15 bucks for it...I just bought 10 ANL fuses on ebay for $10 shipped...

most bestbuy dont even carry ANL or MINI ANL. only AGU. 3 packs are 5.99
