Wireless Router Question

So the other day i disconnected my wireless router and cable modem while i was cleaning and when i went to reconnect i accidentally plugged the power cable for the modem into the router and vice versa. the routers lights blinked but all turned orange and after unplugging and plugging it back in not realizing what i did i finally realized and switched em back.

ever since then i cant get my router to connect to the internet. it powers on, connects locally to my computer but the internet light showing its connected wont come on and it wont connect. my modem works just fine if i connect directly from my modem into the computer.

so is it possible i damaged my router and thats why it wont connect to the internet or am i just stupid? ive disconnected this many times and never had this problem before. by no means am i computer genius but i can usually figure things out on my own. been messing with this for days and just cant figure it out.

yep by pushing the reset on the back and doing it through the computer as well. reset my router and modem a hundred times. everytime hoping maybe the last time it didnt work was a fluke lol

if you hit the reset button on the back of the router you will have to redo all your settings in the router...thats why the internet light wont come on..what kind of router is it??

whats the voltage difference between the plugs? polarity?

i dont ever recall setting anything in the first place. i plugged it all in and it worked. ill check everything again but i dont know. seems like ive tried everything already.

If you never set any security on it you're better off anyways.
