So im about to start wireing my truck and need a bit of help, this is going to be my first big system so I want to make sure its done right.

First lets talk fuses. Is there a specific advantage to useing anl or agu fuses? What about midi's? I realize they are just smaller anl's but is there a advantage to them?

Batteries, I have a hook up for optima batteries, I was going to do two optima yellow tops, going to relocate both to the bed of my truck in a custom lockable housing. do you think 2 is going to be enough or should I buy 3?

going to also do the big 3

everything is going to be done in 0 awg

from the batteries im going to run to a distroblock in cab from there either 4 or 8 awg to amps. Right now im planning on 3 amps one for front stage 2 strapped for subs. I may ditch the two amps for one larger 3kw amp

currently the 3 amps have a combined peak draw of 310 amps

so im a bit nervous, I know 0 awg is good for 350 amps with a run of less than 50 feet, but I cant seem to find fuses larger than 300A

so, will a 300A fuse be able to hold 310A ? I highly doubt I will ever pull 310A but its possible so I want to be safe. Since im getting close to the thermal limit of 0 awg should I do a double run just to be safe?

would a 200A HO alt be able to support all of this?

also I dont want to be charging batteries all the time is there anything I can do to help the alternator keep them fresh?

How many fuses should I need?

I know one for the initial run from batteries to the cab, but then should I fuse after the distroblock as well?

i put answer's below ur questions

A: no specific advantages to useing anl, agu, midi.. just all depends on how many amps' you are drwing in the system..

from experince. the agu fuses tend to prematurly go bad. due to head or vibration.

A: good luck finding any bigger. they dont make em any larger...

A: i would run at least one or two runs of 0ga to the back batt's then from the back batt's of to the amps.

would a 200A HO alt be able to support all of this?

A: should be, with the reserve capacity you will have with 2-3 batt's you should be ok.

also I dont want to be charging batteries all the time is there anything I can do to help the alternator keep them fresh?

A: big three will help this.

How many fuses should I need?

A: 1 fuse from alt + to batt under hood +

then 1 fuse for the run to the back batt's and somewhere in the lock box before the rear batt's.

then fuses off to the amps.

I know one for the initial run from batteries to the cab, but then should I fuse after the distroblock as well?

A: yes
