wired down to.5 today.

I've always had great luck with Optima. I've had a redtop under the hood for 3+ years now. Own 2 yellows in the trunk nao. Tend to your batteries and they don't just mysteriously die. lol

Well put it this way the deka that can be had for much cheaper far superior to the optima don't let me see your thread in a few months about my batteries dead why. And infamous I have some more battery testing than you would even know so yeah I know quite a bit in this category. Just cause you sell them don't make them good Batts.

Ask Tj I have all brands im just saying I like optima I love deka and stinger is bad azz

He means charge them regularly Optimas are real picky and need a ton of attention and of the three Batts mixed the optima would be the one that dragged the others performance down. Optima just isn't a good audio battery argue all you guys want buy a Deka agm group 31 and watch how your volts instantly get way better than the optima was doing and at a cheaper cost.

I dont know much about batteries, I'll admit that.

But if you drive alot isnt that enough to keep them charged? (Obviously not talking to you guys who have like 5 batteries)

I mean, I have one optima yellow in the trunk and I noticed a huge difference in voltage drop and my lows seemed to be alot better

Do I have to really charge the battery? This is the first time in years of using car audio that I've needed a second battery in the rear

What do you mean by that?
The more you trickle charge, the healthier they stay. If you work out for a month straight then take a 2 month break would you be able to max like like you did before your 2 month break? Just an example.

Oh fucking get off the nut sack dude. Jesus tap dancing christ. Like I would even consider paying any attention to someone who says "watch your volts get better" anyway.

Driving is enough if you stop playing your setup 10-15 mins before parking & turning off. Most people blast it full tilt until they park, then shut it right off never truly allowing the batteries to get a good charge. In those cases trickling does WONDERS for a batteries health.

Just pay monitor the health of the batteries like you should with ANY battery. If you have a digital readout it makes it 10x easier. If not simply throw a multimeter on them once a month & see what they fall to. Simple.

Cool dude, good explanation. I have a stinger meter but i havent hooked it up to the rear yet. Actually havent even hooked the battery up yet, waiting on my copper lugs to get here any day now.

brand new optima yellow for $140 at advance auto picked it up same day.. good deal imo.

I tested it up front and it was way better than my normal oriellys battery

So is it a good investment for me to buy a trickle charger? Are they cheap? and what, you just hook it up every so often to the battery while you're at home?

If you want the most from your batteries, yes sir. Cheap ones can be found. I always see this one on eBay suggested for

I had 3 group 34 yellow tops running a ZX2500 and a PDX 2.150. I would drop to the 12s easyI have 3 XS D3400s running a DC 5K and a JL 450/4v2. I drop .4v-.6v.
LOL that's hardly a fair comparison dude. Completely different technology, completely different spec sheets.
