So i need some wire for my amp, and probably big 3...i was just gonna buy a bunch of 2 ga to do it all with. Is the welding supply 2 gauge wire actually 2 gauge???? Is there any other cheap 2 awg wire I should know about? I don't feel like getting stuck with 8 gaughe with a 1/2 inch jacket on it, I also don't need anything fancy, just the cheapest 2 gauge possible... Need about 30 feetish.

why 2awg? why not just go all the way to 1/0awg?

welding wire ftw. it will looks smaller i believe but its a true 2 gauge. my 1/0 looked smaller, but its tru 1/0

I'm on a really really tight budget if i wanna get a ho alt and i don't think i will ever run more than 1200 watts, unnecesary IMO (for DD)

2 awg is hard to find and connectors/terminals for it is also hard to find. Go with a 1/0 kit ftw

i just found a 2awg kit but not so sure its much larger than my 4awg. if you can just go 1/0. otherwise PM me i'll sell you my 2awg kit cheap

You can use 1/0 terminals for 2 gauge.

You can use 1/0 terminals for 2 gauge.

You can also use 4 awg terminals, just spread em out, then use a vise or a good strong clamp to shut it. Fits more snug than 1/0 connectors... i like to melt an assload of solder in my terminals, makes them more rigid and probably helps lower resistance at the terminal.

What kind of 2 awg kit did you find the only one i've ever seen is the PA one and it's really 4 awg....All i need is wire and a fuse holder/fuse so i'm not gonn a bother with a kit.
