Wanting to run 0/1 gauge. Local shop wants $4 per foot. Hoping to avoid that if i can.

So, i am interested in just enough to run the 3 under a small compact hood. Car is snowed into the garage. So exact measurements will have to wait til the snow blower gets back.

Also, sidenote, how many people fuse their wire from alt to batt? Seems that more and more are not doing this.

Find a welding supply store near where you live. Get some 2/0 wire.

90% of stock cars are not fused

so i see no point in it unless you have an extra fuse laying around. regardless of where a break occurs the alt will still get feedback if it shorts with or without the fuse.

very true. my concern would be the battery. the alt is hypothetically damaged no matter what. just dont want my battery exploding too.
