Well, I've done a little searching, but no concrete results. What do you bx1500d guys use for wiring? Is 4 ga enough? Opinions and why?

I would use two guage, after all it is 1500 watts at 2 ohms. Don't risk using a smaller wire now... well not really risk, but why use small when you can get big and do it right.

if you use 2 gauge... be sure to get a reducing adapter... because it only has 4 gauge terminals...

and like slody says, it has 4 ga terminals, so if u want to use something bigger, get to cuttin or buy a reducing adapter

probably not.... i think the maximum you are supposed to use on 4 ga is like 1200watts or something, and if you are pushin 1500 then i would suggest using a bigger wire. I also heard that it helps with the electircal current too. If its gotta bigger wire it'll get a better current... i have no idea what the hell im talking about. it sounded good though right.

bx1500 is 1000 watts @ 2ohms. if ur running it at 2ohms, 4 gauge will be fine. if ur running @ 1ohm, upgrade to at least 2 gauge. might as well just get 0/1.

run the 1/0 wire, and then get the 1/0 to 4 guage adapter from stinger for like 20 bucks!!

i used 2 gauge, but it fits right in the 4 gauge terminals. i got 50 feet from weldingsupply.com for like 44 bucks, and its really 2 gauge, unlike some of the cheap car audio brands out there, they call it 4 gauge and its really 6 gauge ect. ect.

doesn't the guage of wire have more to do with the amp draw (effiency) of the amp and the distance of the run than watts RMS? or am I just a retard?

I'd do 1/0 to the trunk, and a distro off that at 4 g..., but that's just me...

I would go with 4 ga personally - with an ANL 100 or 125A fuse.

If you were going to be competing, blasting test tones all day long and really need that extra fraction of a dB then 2 ga or 1/0 might be of some benefit.

If you're listening to music - generally at moderate volumes, with an "exhibition" now and then, 4 ga will work just fine.
