So I was planning on doing a few repairs to my car and chasing down a few rattles but I also wanted to run better wire from the doors directly to the door amp.

What brand of speaker wire is the best?
What gauge should I use to run from my doors to the door amp?
What gauge should I use to run from my bass am to my subs?

I'm pretty sure all these questions have been asked before but I guess I'll be that guy tonight 😅.

Bass
Rockford t1000 amp
2x rockford P3s

Mids/highs
Rockford t800x4
T2 component
T1 2way coaxle

12 gauge is plenty to the subwoofers.
14 gauge is plenty to the mids.

I prefer Knukonceptz myself. I would not recommend Sky high as my wire corroded in the middle of the runs.

IMHO - There is no "brand" that is better than another when it comes to speaker wire. Copper is copper.

If anything sounds like a Fast and Furious infomercial like "High Performance" or "Extreme" or "This wire will pay for dinner and suck your dick" the company is selling BS snake oil. Also "OFC" only really matters when talking about power wires vs CCA. The more you pay, the more money a company makes. Just make sure its copper and spend the least amount of money possible. Welding wire is great for power and any basic speaker wire will get the job done.

Without knowing what load you're running at hard to specify AWG but I'll give you some options:

Mids @ 4 Ohm (16AWG) - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0044YPN0A/?tag=caraudiocom-20
Mids @ 2 Ohm (14AWG) - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00I8V8XC0/?tag=caraudiocom-20

Subs @ 2 Ohm (12AWG) - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079VJXN1Z/?tag=caraudiocom-20
Subs @ 1 Ohm (10AWG) - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0149VC6KC/?tag=caraudiocom-20

You may need to double check your sub's terminals to see if it will accept 10AWG or even 8AWG but most likely it accepts 12 so keep the wire run as short as possible if @ 1 Ohm. It all comes down to distance and wattage, but with the recommendations I gave you, you should have headroom unless you're wiring a Bus.

My brands are Mediabridge (I started using them for Home Theater and have used them in car audio builds as well) AmazonBasics or InstallGear (YMMV with them as they can be hit or miss sometimes)

Alright. Thanks guys. I appreciate the advice. I've been putting off rewiring the doors direct to the amp but I'm gonna pull the trigger this weekend.

Im running the subs at 1ohm and the doors at 2. I'm pretty sure my banana clips only take 12 awg but the current 12 gauge wire is doing just fine so I'll leave it alone.

It mostly comes down to weight. You can have a super lightweight cone, soft suspension and aluminum coil on a sub and you pretty much get a pro...
