a yes i was just wondering bout some wire to use for big 3, i dont know if it would work but i work for a electric company and i have acess to alot of scrap electric wire, most of it is aluminum strand conductor wire for power, i was wondering if it would be possible to use in car audio, like for a big 3 upgrade and power wire to amps, the only problem i would see is being able to put terminals on the ends and finding some big enough? it would be alot cheaper for me lol free if i could use this kind of wire, the pics are pretty much what they look like may be bigger or smaller? the wire i could use has outer covering too, please help

The un-insulated stuff is a big no no..... the other stuff would be a conductor... good for car audio use... well... probably not the best.... but then beggars can't be choosers.... it's hard to bend and would be difficult to work with in the tight confines of the car......

If it was me, I'd get the wire, scrap it and use the scrapin' money to buy good wire meant for the purpose.....

so would it still be usable for car audio? i know its alittle hard to bend but would it be possible? i know the uninsullated is a no no, lol what do you think would be good for terminals?

Of course it is usable. Just make sure it's the right size for your power flow.

Heck, even the uninsulated is usable, as long as you're sure the wire will never touch any other metal in your car //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif ... Or at least if it does that you have fused the circuit properly, carry lots of spare fuses, and are willing to replace blown fuses a lot. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

what do you mean right size? well i could use 1/0 ot wire which is like 0 gauge i think the only think is this wire has bigger strands, which car audio cable is lots of little strands would that make a difference?

also i know that i have right now is 4 gauge power wire to my amp, and i have a 4 gauge fuse, could i just cut down the ends of the electric wire to fit in my fuse block, would that still carry a load of 0 gauge or would it defeat the purpose cause it goes small through the fuse? then back out to 0 gauge? the big 3 is my main upgrade? i may just use 4 still to my amp since i am only pushin 1500 watts for now till i upgrade to bigger amp?

You would really be better off just buying some better wire. You can enough decent wire for 30-40 bucks...
