wire on the sub

I have a car... is it fast?
Hahah!

Anyways, i'm pretty sure you're talking about the wire from the battery to the amp. Well, you CANNOT use speaker wire. Under any circumstance. If you have a small amp, 8 would be OK...but 4 would be better for anything above 500watts RMS. If you only have 250 or 300 then 8 gauge is fine.

Just for your information...in general, i try to always use the biggest wire i can cram into my 12volt power input on my amp. Same with the ground wire. More never hurts. NEVER.

--------------------------EDIT------------------------

After rereading your post, i think i've come to the conclusion you mean the terminals on the sub. In which case, yeah just use the correct diagram for what ohm load you want the sub to be at. Do you have dual 4 or 2? I know the Brutus can go 1ohm stable so hopefully you have dual 2. With either, you're going to want to wire the voice coils in parallel.

1. How much power are you running.

2. What is the coil config of your woofers.

3. How many woofers.

4. What are you wiring them to at the amp.

5. How exactly are you wiring them at the amp. (Series, parallel, stereo, mono)

i have one sub now and its at 550 rms next week im getting another that will also be 550 rms so total is 1100 on a brutus bxi 1606d amp at 2ohms donno about the parallel stuff

Wire the subs using both terminals on the amp. This way you can use 12 gauge all around.
