I'm going to wire my friends sub and amp together, and I just want to know, how would I be able to get the sub down to 2 ohms on a 2 channel amp. Says it can do 500 watts in bridged mode.

Sub: JBL GT4 12'

Amp: KAC 7204

How would I wire this? Thanks!

From the users manual

"Bridged Connections:

Make connections to the LEFT channel positive

and the RIGHT channel negative SPEAKER OUTPUT

terminals.

The speakers to be connected should have an

impedance of 4Ω or greater."

That will give you a single channel 500W@4Ω.

Like vaiboy said,

No need to wire the sub to 2 ohms, you can't anyway because it is only a single coil 4 ohm.

Amp delivers 500 watts bridged at 4 ohms, sub can only handle 250, you will need to set the gains low to avoid damaging the sub. Just bridge the amp and follow the amps diagram, switches to bridge it and connect it to the sub.

The ideal thing would be to have 2 identical subs and drive each with each channel, or have a sub that can handle 500 watts at 4 0hms

Oh right, you neeed 2 4 ohm subs to wire it down to 2 ohms. So should I just wire it in regular none bridged and do 250

Watts RMS to the sub then?
