Lots of stuff. IMHO, Putin invaded Ukraine because he feared the spread of capitalism. If you look at a map of GDP/Capita and focus on the old Eastern Bloc countries that surround the Ukraine, you'll see that some of them are among the highest GDP/Capita countries in the world. Those countries have benefitted greatly from joining the EU and capitalism, which explains the Ukraine's interest in joining The West. The EU infuses money into new member countries, which makes the EU very appealing.I think everybody has lost their f*cking minds. What are we fighting over?
I assume Putin doesn't want a country with close social, cultural and economic ties to Russia going capitalist.
Guyana and Venezuela is about a big oil find in Guyana, so now Venezuela wants Guyana. IIRC, Venezuela is buried in debt to the UK and IMF and snatching a big oil field could solve that problem.
