I can understand that ambulance chaser attorneys (personal injury) would takes cases on a % basis. Most of those cases never even go to trial. I highly doubt that a criminal defense attorney would take a case where they wouldn't get paid a dime if they lost.

I wouldn't think so but maybe there's some out there that do...the attorney I use when in need (and he's no ambulance chaser) offers percentage payouts out the winnings (and takes a loss if he loses) or standard hourly rates depending what the client wants or can afford...he takes like 30% if he does nothing upfront though...

Be careful there. If I am on a jury then we are speaking to someone's life. If she yells **** and I am on the jury, I will not convict without visual evidence. I am a grown man, I don't cower and I don't back into a corner. I never said I don't care if a woman gets *****. I think if a woman gets ***** the person who ***** her should be hung... no pun.... drawn and quartered. I said I don't just believe her just because she says it. People lie, women lie to a greater degree. I know you want to jump right to believing her because she is a woman and you would feel sorry for her. That's what they count on, simps.

As for Trump’s lawyers, he may indeed be getting “free” counsel. Not because they are expecting a payout, and certainly not for pro bono work, but because the PAC might be paying. Of course, funded by donations from gullible idiots.

If a retainer was paid, the attorneys will not be working for free. And, don’t try for the “they’re doing it for advertising”. Way too risky, and if they are big enough to be picked for a case like this, they don’t NEED advertising.
Of course, there’s the possibility he’ll just refuse to pay the bill, like he’s done in the past. Ahole.
