“Force”?

There was some "force." Ie the mandate on large employers. Certainly you were free to quit your job, but who leaves a good job in the middle of a pandemic? You could lie about your religion, but IMHO one shouldn't have to sacrifice their morals and/or lie about their religion. As a matter of fact, putting people in a position where they have to lie about their religion comes dangerously close to treading on separation of church and state.

“Force”?
Yes force...what do call the government trying to force companies to make covid vaccines mandatory...or the vaccine passports that were in place...the government at both state and federal tried to force people out of society over the vaccines...luckily they were unconstitutional...

Trying to force people to take an experimental injection really borders on a war crime, since the long term effects still aren’t known. It’s absolutely absurd; that’s mass medical experimentation with an unproven to be safe technology. That’s thoroughly illegal to mandate it with only EUA approval through executive order. It’s absolutely evil and has nothing to do with caring about people.

I guess I'm part of the antivax crowd since I haven't been vaxed...my reasons were 3% mortality did warrant any extra precautions for myself...I honestly don't care what other people's choices are...

I believe the mortality rate was closer to 1%. I've heard the "I'll take my chances argument before," however "everybody" puts that seatbelt on. "Everybody" has the airbag light checked out when it comes on, you replace the batteries in the fire alarm, etc. IOW it's a false reason, an attempt to dodge the question or answer it honestly. As I've said before behind every double standard is a greater single standard.

IMHO, a lot people avoided the vaccine merely because it was part and parcel of the culture war surrounding the Covid response. Unfortunately, the left (and myself) were of the opinion that when a vaccine came out most people would be on board vs nearly 1/2 the nation refusing the shot. Personally, I don't care if anti-vaxxers didn't care about themselves or others, that's just human beings being human beings. But I do take exception to mis/disinformation being spread and ******* in people into the anti-vax web, when they could/would have otherwise gotten vaccinated. And that's why the pro-vax crowd kept pushing and pushing for facts. It would be nice if these platforms applied that standard more uniformly, or found a way If somebody feeds me a line BS, then they shouldn't be shocked when they get called out on it.

I said pandemic of fast food restaurants, not heart disease.

Again not a pandemic. Epidemic in the US. Globally there aren't multiple fast food restaurants at every major intersection and isn't consumed at the rate it is in the US. As a matter of fact I'm in Ireland right now and a large coke at McD's is the medium in the US (used to be more like the small). Also fast food is an epidemic that affects the lower incomes much more than upper income brackets.

Actually, I was a little surprised at the mandates. I didn't think they'd have a chance in court as was the case.

I get what you're saying and I can't speak for anybody else's reasons for or against...i legitimately didn't feel threatened enough to need a vax...i don't believe it's 100% safe (no vaccine or medication for that fact is) and I don't believe there's a conspiracy around it (although it's fun to play devil's advocate occasionally)...and I have no clue of it effectiveness, too many on the extreme from both sides blur up most of the useful data...like I said, this just me and my thoughts/opinions on it...I do think too many politicians from all levels took advantage of covid and push too hard on the people in a an blatant power grab...too many said one thing and got caught doing the opposite ...

That's a good way to look at it. I would rather my brother at least have a chance to be alive if a vaccine was available at the time.

I have close family members who've opted not to vax. I really hope it isn't their time. Luckily Covid has mutated into something less deadly. Actually, some epidemiologist were calling the mutation to a less dangerous variant. The reasoning is that the more deadly a virus is, the better it is at killing (or hospitalizing or quarantining) its host, therefore limiting its opportunity to spread. OTOH, an milder variant gets greater opportunity to spread.

Who tried to force you to take it?
