I don’t agree with having to be 21 to buy a pistol

I have issues with my government telling me that at 18 I am adult enough to go to war and die with a rifle in my hands….. but not adult enough to own one when I’m just a regular citizen in my own country. There is nothing but downsides to letting the government decide

and a string of civil violations that followed it

NO!

we should not respond to these events with emotionally charged knee jerk reactions and shitty policies that only trample on the rights of the vast majority of the country.

What civil violations? Are you trying to say that nothing should've changed after 9/11? You can't stop ******* bombers or mass shooters but you can make it harder for them to complete their goal.

if ar15s get banned and it makes no difference….. do you think they will admit their failure and give us our guns back?

How will you know if it makes a difference? If somebody can't get an AR-15 they aren't going to run to the press and let everybody know that the changes stopped them. Just like you can't say that seatbelt and speed limit laws have saved lives.

they know because of a thing called statistics

the reason why the “assault weapons” ban was overturned in the first place was because STATISTICS proved it had no effect in reducing violent crimes

there has been tons of lawsuits over illegal search a seizures since on top of people being put on no fly lists for no rhyme or reason with no end in sight to be taken off it

why didthey just ban the planes?

or better yet, make it so that you have to be 21 or older to fly

I have been in three active shooter situations. One when I was 12 one when I was about 30 and one when I was 49. You are right in assuming that I'm not going to run at a guy who is shooting if I'm outgunned and not wearing the right protection. It's easy for you to play Billy Bad *** when you've never been involved in one. They don't publish polls where they only ask 10 people. Even you know that. Republicans always with the fake news bullshitt. Show me a poll where Republicans are against universal background checks and raising the age to buy an AR-15 to 21. I'll wait.
I have been involved in some gun play. I have had several pointed at me inches away from my nose. I sure as hell didn't run and hide.

So you won't say how many people were polled to come up with this "80%" number then we have to assume it is a bullshit number thrown out there to help a talking point. Show me the poll where it sites 80% and I will go dig up an actual poll on the age being raised to 21 by Republicans. I will wait as well.

You mean those changes? A failing agency and wide spread collection of citizen's data...to use just in case.

Government really knows how to get right at the root of a problem and save us all 😒

It's obvious you deliberately avoided the common talking point of "yelling fire in a crowded theatre", but you didn't veer far enough to create a separate point.

Is voting a right? Is that right protected, or can it be regulated? Do you agree with voter ID requirements?

Felon? Their gun right revocation should depend on the crime. Child? Lots of differences between an infant and 17 years old. A kid raised to use and respect guns is very different from a kid who has never fired one before. Mental "defect"? You're opening a can of worms with that one. Gender dysphoria is a mental defect in my opinion. Thoughts?

Why should I have to wait a few days to buy a gun? What if I already own other guns? Why do a background check if I am still considered unfit to own a gun if I pass... for a few days?
I know I've made good arguments when rob ignores them.

OK. In your previous post you talked about personal responsibility, but now you want to say media is the problem.

I believe in personal responsibility. It’s why I am prepared to defend me and mine instead of waiting 20 minutes for a cop to be able to respond. But I also believe in the bigger picture that many if not most of us are not prepared or able.
We have EMTs, we have firefighters, we have police, we have roadside assistance, we have health, we have road crews. All exist because we are not all fully capable of fully independent life.

Laws are the same. They help to maintain sanity, and keep society moving forward. Most laws are based in common sense. Some are made for criminals. Do they necessarily stop criminals? Obviously not. But when they don’t, they allow for punishment (aside from prairie justice).

I’m a big advocate of gun ownership. I’m also an advocate for common sense laws regarding gun ownership AND of dealing with the real problem, which is people.

I should have expanded.
Media infests weak minds and people by training, social upbringing, political ideology fall in line to the victim mentally and media turns around and props them up.

I'll consider more gun laws when federal government prosecute suitcases no dismissing charges.

I'll consider more gun laws when the federal government takes the same effort election integrity and immigration vetting.

That's one of the problems with the Uvalde shooter.

No one wanted to make durinf Uvalde.
During AST you are taught you're the first and potentially only ones availabile to stop or at least slow down thr threat.

Had they entered they could have confirmed hostage vs active shooter. As long as ita s AS situation you are trained to locate, engage and attempt to neutralize or at least contain the threat.

You must live in Chicago or S Central to have that many events under your belt, or horrible luck.

Voter ID is unconstitutional, and legal immigrants get vetted pretty thoroughly.

Are you suggesting the COTUS should be upheld for 2A, but violated to promote voter ID?

Can you show me the court decision that's says having an ID to vote is unconstitutional?

No other provision of law, simply having an ID to prove you who you claim to be.

Not too be a d1ck but you have absolutely zero idea on the topic. Even if you worknfor CIS, you would then admit how shoddy their process it.

If you make a purchase from an FFL you have to have an ID and fill out your atf application.

Hey, your boy Biden said "no amendment to the constitution is absolute." So why even bring up the constitution. These people want to ignore it anyway.

Is an ID unconstitutional? Passport? Divers License?
