OK. In your previous post you talked about personal responsibility, but now you want to say media is the problem.
I believe in personal responsibility. It’s why I am prepared to defend me and mine instead of waiting 20 minutes for a cop to be able to respond. But I also believe in the bigger picture that many if not most of us are not prepared or able.
We have EMTs, we have firefighters, we have police, we have roadside assistance, we have health, we have road crews. All exist because we are not all fully capable of fully independent life.
Laws are the same. They help to maintain sanity, and keep society moving forward. Most laws are based in common sense. Some are made for criminals. Do they necessarily stop criminals? Obviously not. But when they don’t, they allow for punishment (aside from prairie justice).
I’m a big advocate of gun ownership. I’m also an advocate for common sense laws regarding gun ownership AND of dealing with the real problem, which is people.
