I never said the price we pay is LESS, I said that IF we pulled out of the world market, we'd end up paying more per barrel. Oil production in the US in not government-owned. Oil producers only producing in and for the US would charge whatever they wanted as there would be no competition and no price control, like there is in a world market.

Remember that guy bought the EPI pen rights and then jacked the prices sky high? Yeah, you can do that when there is no competition...
