Yes, you chose to go to jail by your actions. The punishment is not created after the crime happens. You choose to accept the punishment when you commit the crime, even if the punishment may never happen.

You chose to give up all freedoms and go to jail, but are griping about giving up some freedoms to live in a society. That’s an interesting twist. What freedoms have been “taken” from you? If they are so important to you, why not step out if society so that you can exercise them instead of being bound not to?
I hear people griping that their HOA won’t let them cut down a tree, yet they moved to a place with an HOA, knowing full well they’d have to abide the rules. Does that make sense to you?
