Here is an idea... tell me if it is a rational one. Who or what "group" of people commit the most crimes with a gun? Why don't we just not sell guns to "those" people?

We have FBI statistical numbers of which people commit these crimes the most right?

Hmmm which person in this picture is statistically most likely to commit a gun crime...

Do you mean sales TO a private party from a dealer? I can buy a gun from my neighbor or friend or a family member with no background check.
It's the same in 26 states (which means it is not a Federal law to have background check).

Any interstate transfer requires a FFL regardless and IIRC there's a provision for within state in federal law that say its "ok" but there's form 3312 you should fill out and have available if requested.
I'll have to ask a retired colleague on the nuances but to avoid being made an example, there's either law or regs that want you to have it registered and the sale performed by an FFL.

Comparatively, Weed is "legal" in some states but that doesn't prevent any federal agency from charging someone federally.

Gun offenses are the 1st offense the AUSA pleads out. Illegals in possession are regularly declined or dropped and on average 4500 federal gun charges are dropped or declined. Bans won't do anything as long as the feds keep dropping and declining charges.
A kid out here got caught raping his 8 year old sister and he got 90 days jail/3rd degree assault.

Laws don't mean d'ck if prosecuters and judges drop charges or plead to misdemeanor offenses.

As for weed: bad analogy. States go after people that break statute. The feds don't go after people for breaking a fed reg that statute allows them to break. If they did, every dispensary in the US would be closed in the blink of an eye.

Your home state has nothing to do with Federal Regulation of SNAP benefits. The numbers are mandated at a federal level by USDA, FNS, and FDA. it's codified under 7 CFR § 271.

if it's just her and a kid, the max SNAP is $430 a month. If she's getting cash benefits (which she must be if unemployed and paying bills), then there is a time limit on how long she can get it. And it's not decades.
If she is getting Child Support, it reduces her SNAP and cash benefits, possibly to zero. And Child Support is reported directly to the agency handling her SNAP benefits. Do you pay child support for your kid that she has? Then it reduces her benefits.

90% of firearms used in crime are obtained illegally. More than half (56%) are either stolen (6%), or found at the scene of the crime.

7% are obtained off the street or from the underground market

most of he remaining 25% are obtained from a family member or friend or as a gift
