You heard that shit all the time. "He's wearing a mask, so, you know that he will be voting for Biden." The Republicans absolutely don't want to wear masks or get vaccinated.
I wear a mask every damn day.... Not because I am republican or anything else... it's because I care about those around me. Jesus man... you seem to think everything is a competition.

Ahhhh I get it now. So it’s cool for you to blanket statement something but when a republican does it, he’s a trump groupie.

Dude I live in a very red area and a vast majority of people wear a mask. They still do even when it’s not required.

Ugh, this has just turned into a dissing game. Every reply is an insult by some. I have been guilty lol. The hypocrisy still is at skyscraper levels. And Trump did lie about paying for the wall! He did do that. The way he said it was not truthful.

The amount of children that are being trafficked across the border and being used by paid smugglers to get in is ridiculous. Kids are being taken from wherever south of the US and being used as tools to get in easier. It's easier to get released with a minor. Doesn't have to be your minor. Just has to a minor, from somewhere. Who knows!

This is industrial grade illegal activity going on at the southern border. I mean, it's been bad for a while. But right now, it's awful. What's being done by the government right now is literally like the opposite of the law, when it comes to what we do with these people.

What China does is get a president into office that they've blackmailed and done a 1.21 gigadollars worth of business with. Then, that China owned president floods our border, that way China doesn't have to invade us militarily. You see how that works? It's cheaper to buy a bunch of super corrupt politicians to destroy the US and then save your army to destroy the US in maybe a few years or decades or whatever when the society collapses from internal instability.

Can one person explain to me how people flooding our country is good for us or for the majority of the countries involved, at all? What absolute moron thinks that letting in an infinite amount of people from the worst countries on the entire content of south america and central america and who knows where else is a good idea, at all? Oh yeah, let's not have guns while we're at it! That way, you can send a whole foreign military in through the border and they can just murder us all in all sorts of ways when they're in here! Have you ever seen what happens to people just south of the border? You wanna talk about mass shootings? LOL I can go on for infinity. It's a fatally stupid idea not to have a serious border and politics has nothing to do with it.

So, is that video of Trump acceptable to you? Was that a good way to handle a deadly pandemic that is passed though the air and we didn't have a treatment for at the time? You don't think that that didn't lead many people to not take the virus seriously?

They need to poll Americans on whether they should pass specific new gun laws.

I'm not concerned what people think from moment to moment since most instructions today tell people not to put things in their mouth. Mob rule is a really stupid way of ruling anything. I think the constitution was written to prevent the government from having too much power and, more specifically, preventing a few people from having too much power (i.e. not England). I think following the constitution brought this country where it is and sticking to it will help us weather storms.

A government that wants to disarm it's citizens is doing so because it's about to piss all of them off.

I don't think either party has talked about disarming the Country. We both know that will never happen. I suppose that we can do nothing and just accept mass shootings with military grade weapons as a part of American life. When the Constitution was written, I don't think that our founding father's were thinking that citizens would be able to arm themselves with assault rifles, 100 round magazines, and bump stocks. A little stricter background checks and some restrictions on private party sales isn't asking too much, IMHO!

Masks aren't signs of political preference. Some people think it's a deadly virus and they should wear masks forever because there will always be strains of coronavirus. These people will both live in fear and judge anyone who isn't doing what they want. Some people look at statistics of who died "from Covid" and not just died "with Covid" and think the actual death rates are so low that we overreacted. Others look at the global response and consider that every country took different steps and had different results based on a variety of factors and then they pick their favorite. In the US, death rates varied heavily based on who was Governor since each state got to decide how to react (and what to do with positive patients and the elderly).

What we do know is that cloth masks are not effective, scarfs are not effective, and most "medical" masks are not effective (because it clearly states this on the package). Effectiveness is measured by it's ability to actually prevent exchange of particles, not just reduce it by a random amount.

I design hospitals. I have been in hospitals, evaluating them, this entire time. Hospitals were concerned, are fine now, but are looking to change the way they configure patient wings to properly accommodate the next surge (whenever it happens in the future). Expect increased flexibility with HVAC systems, more UV sterilization, more robust electrical systems, and higher-flow liquid oxygen systems.

I think that sick people should wear masks when they are contagious, regardless of what they are sick with. Sick people should stay home from work and sick kids should stay home from school. For me, this view is about 20 years old and hasn't changed.

What I learned this past year is that most people think electrolytes are what plants crave... and they act accordingly.

The one positive thing out of all this is that employers and schools are now universally accepting of remote work/learning.

More people are killed by ladders than "mass shootings" (need to define what number quantifies as "mass"). Chicago has more deaths per weekend than any mass shooting and it also has the strictest gun laws in the country. And it's not with scary looking rifles either. Bullets are illegal without a special ID in the state and adjacent states (and online sellers) comply with IL rules. Laws don't work in Chicago, and that's just one city.

There is no such thing as an "assault rifle". It doesn't exist because assault is an action, not an adjective. Using that term does speak to the ignorance of the user.

Only one recent shooter used a "bump stock". It greatly reduces accuracy and isn't effective for the presumed task. Soft-padding can produce a similar effect. Every legislation proposed seeks to limit magazine capacity to less than 10, which means about 80% of current and past handguns would be illegal overnight. The "100 round blah" argument also speaks to ignorance on actual proposed legislation.

The founding fathers fought England with the same weapons that England had. Yes, they expected an even playing field. They had cannons and Gatling guns. They expect citizens to be able to stand up to tyranny - even when it comes from the government.

Well, the media calls them assault rifles. I guess that you want me to call them AR's or AK's (street sweepers, that's fine. So, according to your post, the American people should have access to grenades, machine guns, rocket launchers, bazookas, tanks, weaponized drones, etc.... so that we would be able to effectively stand up to a Government assault on the people. You say that bump sticks aren't accurate and you are probably right, but the Mandalay Bay shooter got off over 1100 rounds in a short amount of time. There was so much heat in that room from the gunfire that the fire alarms went off and it caught the curtains on fire. He killed 60 people and some 800 other people were injured in about 10 minutes. I guess that we should just get used to those types of things happening. It's just a part of life in America.

Some people should just stay under a blanket in their basement and let the rest of us live our lives. We can give these afraid people guaranteed income so they don’t have to ever be scared of anything again and be tempted to take away freedoms from their neighbors. It would be worth the money.

OK Bobby, since every post says the same thing with different words, how do you want to stop mass shootings? You say you don’t want to disarm citizens but want stricter gun laws. Is that the way to stop them?

The way social media style virtue signaling leaks into real life is getting irritating. Life comes with risk. Leaving your house, or staying in your house for that matter, caries risk. There is no way to remove the inherent risk of life without taking freedoms at the same time. We took the right to murder away, but it still happens. We took the right to steal away, but that still happens. The only thing a lock is good for is to keep an honest man honest. Guns and gun violence aren’t going to go away due to any “common sense gun law”. The only way to eliminate gun violence, is to eliminate guns 100%. No half measure will do anything except stop law abiding/law scared people from owning guns.. That being said, what do democrat voters think the end game to gun control is for liberal intellectuals who look at the long game 20 years from now?
