Who set the tone, color and stage? He first attacked demonized the unvaxxx now he’s coming half the country that who voted against him. They want civil war to extent their powers take more freedoms and 2A and suspend the election. Tin foil hat on.
I just watched the whole speech...so much for having an adult in office who can bring the nation together...it may have been the most divisive speech I've seen...
Yep and they don't bare the consequences...the public does...Both sides just keep driving the wedge in deeper and deeper.

Gerrymandering has been going on forever and both sides do it...what's the danger to our representative republic?
Both sides accuse each of other of "perfecting it" and have for a long time...scrapping the electoral system will make a handful of coastal states basically decide the presidency (and steer policy)...leaving smaller populated states effectively without a voice in the election...we don't need more government that's the biggest problem right now...there's so many between elected and non-elected in the fed...nothing gets done...giving the presidency choice to the houses only increases their power and again separates the average system from a say in who's in charge...and we're not a democracy or have ever been...we're a representative republic...I know the Dems did it back in the day, but the GOP seems have perfected it. The danger is it allows for "extremist" representatives because they're in districts where there no possibility of losing. Lauren Boebert comes to mind - she can barely put together 2 thoughts yet she is in Congress. I'd rather see more Senators/Reps like McCain or OG Biden who had to/tried to find a middle ground. Furthermore, the GOP has successfully found a way to "hi-jack" the system to ensure they can still capture control of the House despite being a minority party. If we had greater representation (way more many reps), that would make gerrymandering more challenging. i I'd scrap the electoral system too. Either go back to the old system where the states/congress critters voted for the POTUS or go popular vote, or go with a system like most other "democracies" use where the majority party basically elects it's leader.
