I have access to old and new and soon to be version of the new OS beta.

I curently installed the newest version 5381.1 and wow. It runs really smooth compaired to older versions i have used. It doesnt run 100% but about 96% of the time it runs awesome! It is a huge resorce huge, uses alot of memory AND cpu. I have a pen4 3.0 ghz hyperthreaded, 1 gig ram, 256mb video card. So im not using something really old.

Heres what it looks like.

Here are the requirments for Vista coming 2007

Minimal Specs (Called Vista-Ready PCs):

-800Mhz Processor

-512 MB of RAM

-DirectX 9-Capable Graphics Processor

Recommended Specs (Called Premium-Ready PCs):

-1 Ghz Processor

-128 MB Graphics Memory, numerous other graphics-related requirements

-1 GB System Memory

Microsoft also plans to make an advertisement campaign around those required machines, in order to make people be sure their machine will meet those requirements, and this campaign should be revealed on May 18th, in this case tomorrow.

This announcement was made to prepare the also planned WinHEC release of Windows Vista Beta 2 (Supposedly Build 5384, last known compiled build as of today), which will likely be made public in the days following its release at WinHEC.

These requirements are about what was expected, maybe a little bit below. As previously announced, most PCs sold within last year might be Vista-Ready, though very few fully meet the Premium-Ready requirements.

To be honest with you im actually suprised on how few bugs i have had with it. Ive tryed everything to get something to happen.

But ya the looks are amazing, but it takes alot of cpu and memory to get it to look like that.

Like what? Does it have 1337 pointless memory hogging animated transitions!?! As far as those screens show, windows blinds or similar programs can do ALL of that.
Look at the device manager and control panel. Windows blind cant do that.
