Window sealing suggestions???

Hello everyone, I'd like to thank everyone in advance for any help I get!!! Alright so late October I installed my set up on my 97 expedition, as all of you expedition owner may know, one of the biggest issues with any set up in one of these comes out to be the Windows in the 3rd row, I'm looking to seal them off completely due to not only the fact that the tab that opens them broke but also unnecessary horrific rattle and loss of spl... Any suggestions and ideas even if they sound crazy I'd like to hear them, I'm willing to go the extra mile for this one..

I like eurethane windshield sealant. Any high quality eurethane will do the trick
Where could you purchase that? And how does that work? Never heard of it since I don't have to do much sealing lol also, how resistant is it? Anymore info you could give me in regards?

Or loctite eurethane sealant.

How resistant to what? Vibration? Is your windshield still sealed? It's what is used to secure your windshield to the vehicle.

If you are permanently sealing off the window I would pull the windows. Pull the rubber seal. Get some metal stock and glue that in to take up the distance the rubber seal used to take up. Then glue the glass to the metal. Or if you have solid rubber seals. Glue the seal in and then glue the window to the seal. You can also pull the window seal and then re install the window using a wood shim to hold it out and put in a thick bead of sealant. That way is normally messy and does not look the best unless you are good at smoothing out a bead and controlling the flow out of the caulk gun. Let that dry, pull out the wood shim and then fill where the shim was

Thanks guys and yes I'm looking for a more permanent type deal seal, the flap damaged my paint already and I don't really care for them much, just want to do away with them, and itd be a little different than the windshiel considering that the only thing they make contact with when closed is the rubber seal and I pretty much wanna keep it looking clean..

AquaSeal is a urethane product commonly used to waterproof seal things. Make sure and clean the binding surfaces well. AquaSeal is much like silicone rubber but much stronger and more durable.

Pretty sure he's smarter than you. Matter of fact I will put $$ on it.

I've used AquaSeal a lot in my whitewater kayaking hobby. It's great stuff, great to waterproof a seal, adheres well to many clean surfaces.

That's nice. How's that gonna help your helpless situation?

AquaSeal's pretty permanent. I've used it a lot in various whitewater kayaking applications. Even used it to seal up a hole in my waterbed mattress after we moved it and it got a small hole/leak in it. I found the leak, cleaned the vinyl waterbed mattress material and AquaSealed the leak shut. No more a leak in over a year, and i don't ever expect this leak to be a problem again, ever.

Did any of the base line vehicles come with fixed windows ? Check with dealer . My truck has pop out rear side windows but the baseline work truck had permanent fixed windows. I talked with a glass guy and he can order replacements and i will take out my pop outs and all the frame and hardware and the others will glue in like a windshield and no more SPL leaks and also more theft resistant than the pop outs ! Lol thats how i always break into mine when keys get locked in it !
