im using this program to make a box for my 3512 in 2cubes either 32hz or 40.

im going to use 4" flared aeros. i want to use 2 ports one on each side of the woofer. when i put in 1 port it says 13" length then when i put in 2 ports for the same tuning it says 29" length. is this 29" each port or 29" all togather?

Each port should be that length.

When you increase port area by using dual ports, the length of each port must be increased to compensate for the increased port area.

To figure the length of a port for a dual-port enclosure, each port should be the length of the desired tuning frequency for half the enclosure size.

For example; if you have two ports, each 4" in diameter, and a 2cuft enclosure with a desired tuning frequency of 32hz......then you "calculate" the length of each port based off of how long a single 4" port in a 1cuft enclosure would need to be.

If you model a 1 cuft enclosure with a single 4" port tuned to 32hz, and a 2cuft enclosure with dual 4" ports tuned to 32hz, the port length of all the ports will be exactly the same....30.11" according to my calcs, apparently 29" according to WinISD.

There is no easy explanation...

**** ok that doenst really make much sence but it seems like the explanation is complicated.

i guess there goes my plan of using two ports because 29" is really long.
