I currently have a ed 9.2 and i am in the process of installing a aq2200d. My question is will a Kinetic 1400 be good enough? My alt is only 130amps and i would like to use the 1400 as my only battery. So would the 1400 be enough for the system as well as being my primary battery?

P.S the aq2200d has 200amp fusing and the 9.2 has 50. So a max of 250amp draw. Will only be running the aq at 2ohm with gains set at less then half as i only need 800rms at 2ohm so i doubt ill be pulling anywhere close to 250 but ya never know i guess. Any help would be appreciated or if you know of a better battery for my specific purpose...

u need 2 good batteries. kinetik upfront and maybe a 70+ah battery in the rear....just to be safe.

I would want more than a 1400. 250a draw from 140a alty with only a 1400 as a reserve...not feelin' it. Not for long at least. Maybe consider another alt. Can be cheaper than buying a bunch of batts. Plus not as much room.

Depends on budget and what kind of voltage you are willing to put up with.

Anyone know of any custom alt companys? I have e-mailed excessive amperage but was wondering if there were anymore trustworthy companys out there?

P.S would a 180amp alt and a single 1400 be enough?

on music at 2 ohms you will be fine,

I doubt you will pull 140 amps at that load,

one question, why are you installing a aq2200 and only running it at 2 ohms / 800 watts? There are a lot of other choices that have smaller foot prints a cost less id that is what your need really is.

Running the aq at 2ohm cause i currently only have 1 DD 2510 which is dual 4ohm so for now I have no choice but to run it at 2ohm. Maybe someday I will add a second 2510 and then wire it down to 1ohm. Other reason i got the AQ cause the price was right and no matter which sub i go with in the future I will already have more then enough power on tap.
