Will this setup work?

Hi, just wondering if this setup will work alright. I am going to connect the Pioneer GM-D8400M mono 1200 watt amp http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Products/CarAudioVideo/Amplifiers/GMSeries/GM-D8400M to 2 subs. The subs are Phoenix Gold Octane-ZR 10D4 10" 600W Dual 4-Ohm Subwoofers http://www.dominantcaraudio.com/store-products-14037-Phoenix-Gold-Octane-ZR-10D4-10-600W-Dual-4-Ohm-Subwoofer_41084211.html. I'd look into buying a pair of 2 ohm dvc subs and get the amp's full potential...Or a single 4 ohm dvc sub that'll take the 600 watts...

But each speaker has a max of 600 watts, and each speaker has an RMS of 300 watts. So wouldnt that be a total of 1200 watts MAX???

max ratings don't mean squat. That amplifer provides 300 watts rms @ 4 ohms and 600 watts rms @ 2 ohms. And to be honest, I don't know for sure if it'll do that. I don't know anyone that uses that amplifier...

Are the speakers I have now SVC or DVC? Would each speaker would get 150 RMS? Or would each speaker get 300 RMS? Which would be the correct diagram??? thankk you so much btw

I don't know the impedence of your subs, dude. There's no way I can answer that question.

You need to find out the impedence of your subs. If they're 4 ohm dvc, you need 600 watts RMS @ 1 or 4 ohms. If they're 2 ohm dvc, you need 600 watts RMS @ .5, 2 or 8 ohms.

Either way, that Pioneer amplifier you're looking at is too expensive for what it is...

Post up actual pix of the magnent of your subs.... Also dont buy the pioneer amp they are junk... I would buy something used on here first....
