Will this port design work?!

It seems like I cant get it both ways... Right now at 38hz, it plays techno great, at 30hz it played rap great... but I havent had one that sounded all around great... I mean it sounds ok, just not enuff output on certain types of music.

It never is... Sealed is really the only enclosure that will have a generally flat response with all music.

Well I had the same sub, on the same amp, in the same size box, different ports... The Original box is just a cube basically, standard box, but it just looks like *** in my back seat, so ive created this thing, and now I just cant get it to sound anything like it WAS.... I dunno if its the port 100% or if its the angles, or what.

Its driving me nuts, I almost just wanna start over... but my wife will murder me if I spend another day on this, haha...

This is for a Type-R 12"...

Is this box too big for this sub? 2.3cuft? Would I be better to close off that bottom part where the 90degree angle is, and make it around 2cuft? -- and eliminate standing waves?

I say run the port along the back wall. All of the 180s in that will kill you.

Just try to round off all the edges and make the inside as smooth and free flowing as possible (meaning no sharp angles, etc)

If you have to, resin it up to get it flowing smoothly.

Here's an idea, and shows what I mean by making the angles less extreme.

I dont think there is a space issue really, I mean the manual only calls for 1.75cuft... and i got 2.5 without the port...

Also, on the bottom, there is a indented part to go around the seatbelt thats for the seat that was taken out, that is unfortunately attached to the seat that is beside this one //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif If that makes sense...

I cant have the port run along the back, thus the reason im asking that the u-shaped slot port...

I dunno what the heck i should do, i mean this box LOOKS sweet in there, but I just need a better sound from it. I mean it sounds OK, but not GREAT like it used to.

Well from what ive read/heard in the Type-R threads, 2-2.5cuft is what people are using... I mean, I could do that, and not loose a lot of space I dont think...

I guess its worth a shot... maybe this is why the output isnt so great... what would hte angles do to the sound?
