Will This Damage My Headunit?

Hi, im putting a new headunit and speakers in my car //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Im just going to run the speakers directly from the headunit so there is no amp in between. My question is if I have my headunit installed without any speakers hooked up will it damage my headunit? Somebody told me it would but I wanted to make sure before I take it all back out... I figured if I just had the cd player set to usb and there was so sound being sent out it would be ok... Im just waiting for my speakers to show up to install them. btw my headunit is alpine cda-105.

Yeah, it doesnt matter, speakers or not, you wont blow it up just by powering it on.

Just turn the volume all the way down if you're scared. Then you wont be putting out anything.

Why don't you wire up the head unit like anyone else normally would so it's hooked up to your factory speaker wires, ready to go? I think you're making this far more complicated than it needs to be. Stop taking advice from this person about car audio.

Look at all the people who have 4 channels hooked up to a HU that doesn't allow them to turn off the internal amp. Does that ruin them? No.
