will this change my ohm load?

i have 2 separate boxes with 2 subs in each box (4subs total) an (1) 1 channel mono amp all the subs are single 4 ohm can you splice the wires from both boxes together safely an with out changing the ohm load +2+ -2- for all 8 sub wires then 1 wire from the amp spliced into the 8 sub wires

4 single 4 ohm subs in parallel will present a 1 ohm load.

All positives to positive, and all negatives to negative is parallel.
