Will this be noticably louder

i have the CVRs in a Sentra so theres no way in hell they can be ported, but if i were to get 2 12in. subs and port them will I hear any difference in loudness?
So why is there "no way in hell" they can be ported?

To answer your question, yes. If you have two of the same subs, given the same power, the vented setup should be noticably louder compared to sealed.

Oh, so I guess that two 15" RE XXX's wouldn't be any louder than two 15" CVR's since they have approximately the same cone area??

But what about the efficiency differences between two different subs?
.
that was a general statement. if you have two tens with 500 watts and you jump to four tens with 1000 watts, you are going to notice a big difference. you dont have to be a dick about things.

if they were down the lines of l7's xxx rl-p i think you would. its hard to guage without being able to hear what u have now. 15s will get low in a good box but ported can get you 3 db or more

No, my point was that you can't make blanket statements like that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif That "generalization" only holds true when you are comparing the same subs in the same alignment. Change boxes or change subs (as he was comparing two different subs in this thread), and you can throw the generalization out the window as it no longer holds true.

CVRs to TypeRs will give a small, noticible SQ difference, not necesarily good though, it depends on which one the listener prefers. If you have 1000wrms going to 2 15s in your trunk and have absolutely no more space to give up, I'm sorry to say you wont get any noticible SPL increase w/o spending some serious $$. You can get 2 more efficient subs and a higher wattage amp, but you'll be spending a good ammount of money for just a couple DBs. Ususaly someone like you should just go ported, but you dont have space. With unlimited funds I would say you should get a 200+amp alternator and a 2500+wrms amp and 2 CV strokers. Good luck with that though.

one more option, what do you think.

1 15in. L7 ported to 35hz, could this possibly get just as loud or louder than my 2 15in. CVRs sealed.

BTW, I will use the same BX1000D

ported sounds like the way to go.
Ported IS the way to go //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/2thumbs.gif.fdc3ba010dbb42b61704534b46d02fe4.gif

if you want to stay with kicker id go back to the 2 12in L7 idea, and then port those babies, then like you said get a little bit bigger amp
He probably doesn't have the space to do this...but the 15L7 is an idea I like. They are wicked loud subs in a proper ported enclosure.

I'm not sure how much of a difference you'll notice, it depends on a lot of factors, but there is the potential to be quite loud with a single 15L7.

I think porting a single L715 with all the power may be louder than two VR's with half the power, sealed...I still think two L712's or even possibly 10's will suffice, but one 15", with all the power, sound like a better plan. IMHO

I wouldn't switch to L7s... Stick with the CVRs... look at this page

http://www.thecaraudiobox.com/installs/

You can do alot with a good box... 147.3 with a Type S 12"?? Woah??

My enclosure is the 6th pic down //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

If ur runnin a prefab box right now I suggest upgrading your enclosure if you wanna add some DBs. Port it for more.

I doubt you could port those though... You would probably need more space than that for a really good difference.

I'm pulling like 145 db in my enclosure and I have 300 watts going to a 15" sq sub.
