will this be good for my subs?

i have a chance to get a rockford punch 800 from a buddy of mine fore $100. first, is this a good deal? second, will this properly power a pair of jl audio w3v2-d4 subs?

Find out the full model number, if it's a punch 800a2 or 800a4, it looks like a good deal depending on condition of the amp.

$100 for an 800 watt rf punch is fair. The power depends on the setup. Is the amp a mono, 2 channel, 4 channel? What omhs wil it run at? I think rf usually runs at 2 ohm, need to check so you don't fry the amp. With your VC config you have options on how to wire it to get the best load for the amp. What is the rms of the subs? Ported or sealed box?

You need all this info to get the best performance from both amp and subs, it will also help prevent damage.

it's the 2 channel. will run 2 channel at 2 ohms stable. i believe rms of subs is 300. box is sealed.

Should do well for you then, be a little easy on the gains though as the amp's were birthed at about 500 watts per channel.
