Will this Be enough?

Im preety new to car audio so i asked my buddy for some help on putting a sub in my Silverado Ext. Cab. I asked him for the best setup that was as cheap as possible He recommended the following set up.

Boston Acoustics GTA-802 (260rms) amp

Sony XS-GTX121LS 12" in a sealed box (300rms max)

Kicker 09DCK8 8ga Wiring Kit

Planet Audio 2 farad capacitor

Grand Total is 302.94$ shipped with tax.

Will this be sufficient for some good bump. I don't wanna shake my car or wake up the neighbors, just wanna make some rap or techno more enjoyable. I don't really wanna spend to much more than this. Thanks everyone!

That depends what you call 'good bump'..considering you're new to car audio, and you're not wanting to shake your car, maybe you'll like the amount of bass that the subwoofer puts out. (It won't be miniscule, but it won't be much.) But if you're like the rest of us, it's gonna leave you wanting more. It's almost inevitable.

(And not to bash Sony, but I'd really try to avoid going with their subwoofers. But it's your choice - some people like them.)

Also - you might want to try going with a ported box to get that extra bump out of your subwoofer.

Here is a better option. Not great but it's as cheap as it gets. Find a decent box for it or build one.
