will this be enough power?

yeah how many people have tried to say that before and it has no truth in it at all. now i would say that if you ran 2 1200.1's to 2 L7's you might blow em but you might not. a buddy of mine has 2 L7 12"s running off 4 800 watt kicker amps so he's running 1600 a piece to his subs and they are fine.

I,f you guys new how to read what I said was you will blow them easier if you are running too little power to them. And as far as bumpin_blazer goes the max watts on L712s is 1200 first edition an 1400 second edition, so he is pretty stupid for running that much power. And the gain should never be set to max on any amp.

so what your saying is that if you send a sub below its rms power your more likely to blow it than sending it its rms power??? cause if you are your wrong....if the gains are set properly it wouldnt matter if you sent a L7 4watts or 1000watts or whatever the rms is....anyways....im not really wanting to start this argument again...peace,

just to make a point...hook up the tiniest little amp you can find to one of the 15's. say its 20x2...bridges to 80 watts. crank the gain on it, and play it for a while. it wont move much at all, and even tho its distorting REALLY bad, it will smoke the amp well before it could do ANY damage to the sub. too much power is what kills subs.

i personally have run over 700 watts into a jl 12w3 long term, with no ill effects, BUT i paid attention to what it sounded like, and was careful with my gains. you just gotta be careful, and make sure to set your gains with an o'scope (or something similar) instead of with your ears.
