Will This Amp Work?

Power Acoustik OV1-5500D,...This amp is rated at 2500w x 1@2ohm

I have 2 12" DC Level 4 (http://www.dcsoundlab.com). The subs are DVC 2ohm, thus i can only wire them to, .5, 2, or 8 ohms. This way i can get 1250w for each sub if i wire it to 2ohm. Am i correct in figuring this out? This amp is 1 ohm stable, will that have any effect if i wire the subs to the amp at 2 ohms?

IF not, would the Directed Audio 2400D be better? Its also rated for 2400w x 1@ 2ohm. Which is about the same power as the PA. Which would you guys recommend?

You are on the right track. It'll work just fine.

EDIT: also, if im running 2500w, what upgrades to electrical will i have to make? im currently running all stock electrical.

how much u gettin the directed for?

run 0 ga wire, fuse it less than 12" from the battery,

also do a search for the big 3, easy pretty cheap upgrade that will help alot

I have a 1995 honda accord, i could definitely do the big 3 upgrade.

I've got the same car....LX 4door.

You may have problems with the small 60amp alternator that comes with it. Before you start go get your electrical system checked out. A half dead battery and an alternator that doesn't charge very well will cause ALOT of problems.

And I thought you were going with the Power Acoustik amp? Those aren't bad at all.

Yah i know what ur talking about, the battery is relatively new, just got a ful charge about 2 months ago. The alt i will have to upgrade tho, any suggestions for a solid Alt, how many amps should i look for?

And i am going to go with the power acoustik, ive heard good things about it and it fits perfectly...

http://www.ohiogen.com is the place where I'm going to try and get my alternator from. There are other places like Iraggi, HO, and mean green i think. As far as amperage just buy the biggest one they offer. The price isn't gonna be much different.
