Will this amp kit work?

Amp: Kicker z1000.1

Subwoofer: 15" FI BL

HU: JVC KW-XR610

Kit: 4 Gauge Amplifier Installation Kit

I believe I can get away with a 4 ga. kit, but not positive. Will this be ok, or should I go with 1/0?

Sure you could get away with it but why not do it right and get 1/0.

good for 1200 rms so you will be fine

1/0 for 1000 watts... 100 amp max draw ( 4 G is rated for 120 amps....) and use 250-300 amp wire at 3 times the cost? really? think about it...

get the 4 guage kit unless you think you may upgrade to over 1500 rms in the future

1/0 just leaves you room to get a bigger amp without buying and installing again.
