Hey so im looking at buying 4 Alpine SPR-13C 5-1/4" 2-way speakers 90 RMS 270 max, and a Hifonics HFi100.4 100x4 RMS. Would the Alpines be able to take the 100RMS or would they blow? I am also going to get PowerBass S-1ZT 100RMS tweeters.

Kenwood x494 - Deck

Alpine SPR-13C 5-1/4 - (4 door speakers)

Hifonics HFi100.4 -Speaker Amp

AudioQue SDC2.5 12"s -Subs

AudioQue 1200d -Sub Amp

Powerbass S-1ZT 100RMS -Tweeters

Boss 3.5 Farad -Capacitor

probably a custom box or just a generic slotted.

Its all going into a 2000 BMW 528i.

Thoughts?

big 3 can be found how to do in the electrical section of this website. It basically is upgrading your grounds and your wire from your alternator to the battery. Its fairly inexpensive and the best electrical update you can do. Can be done by you for ~50bucks. As for getting a box built. There are a ton of box builders on this site, open up a thread in the enclosure section and im sure a few will jump in and get you some quotes. Ask to see some of there other work as some could be backyard builders with little experience(not always bad but a thing to look for).

Alrighty man, I appreciate the help. I am in contact with a builder right now, i will open up a thread to get some quotes as you said. How much of a difference would there be between a generic slotted box and a custom made ported one? Pretty much a 'big 3' is to get more power from your alternator to your battery, I take it?

yea as long as you set the filters right on the amp...Im giving my front speakers 125 watts and they are only rated for 60.....and they take the power fine...

You can hook up those speaker to even an USA-2000X and they won't blow. Look... your amp isn't outputting 100 watts RMS constantly to the speakers, most of the time your main speakers are probably seeing only 1~20 watts. However as you increase the volume so does the wattage going to the speakers, and if your amplifier can output more RMS wattage than what your speakers can handle then you can burn the voice coil in the speaker or wreck the suspension.

Having more power than you need isn't a bad thing, but if you're one of those people who doesn't know (or don't want to worry about) the limits of your equipment then I would suggest using a smaller amplifier.
