Will these amps work with my subs?

Ok i have a slight problem. I have two type r subs that are the dvc 2 ohm version. I had a jbl 600.1 running them but about a week ago my lil sis broke it(long story). But my friend has 2 rockford fosgate amps that are 300 watts at a 2 ohm load. My question is, can i hook up one dvc 2ohm sub to a monoblock amp that pushes out 300 watts at a 2 ohm load? That way i will have 300 watts goin to each sub with 2 different amps. Hope someone can help me with this cuz i feel dumb for asking. thanx

No you cannot. You can run the amps at 4 ohms, where you would get around 150, or risk blowing them and run them at 1 ohm.

ou could try, the amps will most liekely shut off before anything major happens. but i would be willing to bet money that they wont work at 1 ohm. although the amps might be 1 ohm stable, you might wanna look into that.

otherwise, 4 ohm only.

Ok guys thanx alot that helps. So can anyone recommend me an amp that pushes 300 watts rms at either a 1 ohm or 4 ohm load. No more than $180 per amp please. thanx

What about the jbl 300.1..... my old 600.1 worked great so a 300.1 on each sub will work just fine too right?

I vote checking out Profiles AP series, they have some serious power for very low amounts of money, 960x1 at 4 ohms for like 180 or something.
