Will speakers work on stock car deck

I have a 2003 Grand am with a stock deck. I am curious if it is safe to put a set of 4ohm speakers on the deck when the stock speakers are 8 ohm?

Quick help would be appreciated!!!

The deck might not be able to handle the 4 ohm, and might blow the internal amp inside of it... I'm not sure about that specific one, however.

if you've spent the money on new speakers, get a decent amp to power them.

They will be getting an amp and new deck, but I would like to install them now and buy the amp in a month or so (after I recover from xmas)...

Anyone know if it will work?
