will powerful subs running on a weak amp draw power from battery

so in my old car i had 2 1000 watt subs running on a 800 watt amp and i had always thought that the subs would just run with less power, but then the ****** died in the car twice! so i assumed the amp was drawing to much power from the battery and the ****** would fry trying to keep up (it was an old car but the subs differently had something to do with it) so ive had my new car for about 2 years and would like to put the subs in it, so my question is will such a weak amp running such powerful subs draw additional power from the battery? or do any possible damage to the car? (i am not worried about damaging the sub setup(its not very expensive), i am just very worried about the car)

i am have thought about getting a more powerful amp but the system bumps plenty hard for me as is, so i would only replace it to protect the car

any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank u very much

It would be helpful if you'd include the brand and model of the equipment in question. 800w with no other information doesn't tell us much of anything.

The amp only responds to impedance. Whether it's running two 1000w subs or two 30w speakers. If the impedance is the same (or similar) the stress on the amp is the same.

Your electrical accessories have no effect whatsoever on the transmission.

The electrical load is absorbed almost completely by the alternator with moments being supplemented by the battery.

800w rms is generally not going to have a major impact on the alternator, but could be a problem for an economy or older car with a small alternator.

800w max/peak would have very little electrical demand.

What car was it? How many miles were on it? Was the transmission serviced properly? Transmission failure had nothing to do with your amplifier.

...you really should learn a bit abit how a car works otherwise this leaves you wide open to get snookered by shady mechanics/service shops. Your transmission didn't fail because of your sound system.

What subs and amps are you using? Regardless your amp will draw any additional additional power it needs from your battery. Subs don't draw power by themselves, and their wattage rating doesn't necessarily tell you how "powerful" a sub is. You could hook a 5000W sub or a 50W sub to a 100W amp and you would get about the same power out of the amp (~100W). The absolute worst that should happen to your car itself running 800 watts is some voltage drop which could results in your lights dimming. Assuming your equipment is quality stuff and they don't inflate their ratings then running 2x 1000W subs on an 800 watt amp shouldn't cause issue assuming your install isn't all sorts of screwyin ways I can't even imagine.

Your ***** maybe dieing fast due to a failing speed sensor or bad clutching.

If your ever drawing to much from the battery then your alternator or battery would die.

Hopefully someone told you this is why your ***** keeps going bad.
