Will Power cell keep alternator from frying?

I fried my alternator today //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif I was running two Alpine Type R 12's, 2011 model with 600watt RMS on two Alpine MRP-M500 monoblock amps. My car was having no trouble powering them, not even dimming the headlights. The Type R's are broken in now so I decided to get a new amp and up the wattage.

I installed the Hifonics Brutus BRZ1700.1 today (go ahead, hate), and had it just under 3/4 gain with bass boost at +5db. It was running fine for about 20 mins and then everything in my car started shutting off and going dim. I made it home, shut the car off tried to start it back up, and it was dead. I attached a 12v jumper unit, and it started up but it wont start without it.

So basically my question is, if I were to install a Kinetik power cell in my trunk (1800amp), would that keep my next alternator from frying? I have done the big 3, but my battery and alternator are still stock. You cant get a high output alternator for my car //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif. Figured Id clear that up

Props on frying an alt with 2 type Rs lulz ur doing something wrong.

My two Type Rs are running at 700watts off stock (for now) I got mad dimming headlights, but I'll manage till I can afford a HO alt and batt....u should never use bass boost adds distortion like crazy and makes ur subs sound like crap and not perform cleanly. little under 75% gain is decent no prob there, maybe you had a short somewhere or something.

In anycase since ur alt is already fried I'd get a high output alternator if I were you, but if you can't afford that yeah get a nice battery: yellowtop/xs/deka/kinetik/odyssey and definately do a Big 3 upgrade to your wiring if you haven't already.....ur next alternator should be fine off that.

Lol, I don't think it was tEh subz dat fried the alt dude. Stock for your car may be different than stock for mine, weak *** alternator and all. I stated that I already performed the big 3 as well. I was told that you can't get a high output alt for my car, but I just found one //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

You clearly need to read up what gain is for.

OP, hit up DC Power alternator. I also have a big *** XS D3100 battery for sale if you're interested.

Ah *** I need to read what I'm typing more before I post. At any rate I don't think a new battery will save your next alternator, definitely will help a lot, but if ur alt fried after 20mins on that amp you should really look at getting that HO alternator asap.
