Will my battery and alternator be able to handle these 2 AMPS

I have the Profile CL640 right now and planning the preouts to hook up a CL800 to drive 2 moderate 10"s or 8"s, I have a 99 Civic Si. I think the alternator is 75a.

CL640

75x4 rms at 4 ohms

110x4 rms at 2 ohms

CL800

200x2 rms at 4ohms

300x2 rms at 2ohms

Another question.

I have the Wal-mart $25 Kit.

Those familiar with it know its 4g and hook up to a distribution block with 2 8g comming out.

Do you think 8g is enough for the AMPS ?

IF NOT......Could I get another distribution block and have 1 4g running to the battery and 2 4g running to the AMPS ?? Or I need to get a 2g or 0g running to the bettery.

I ask this because I hate to have to run another wire through the firewall.

Thanx for any help.

According to NAPA you have a 75A alt. With somewhat over-rated amps I'd say you're running 800-900w. You're in the "install it and see how it works" range. If I had to guess I'd say you will be ok. With a couple 8's or 10's I'm guessing you're more of an SQ person and don't blast it at the verge of clipping 24/7 which will help out your alt.

You should be perfectly fine!

My friend has a profile CL400 and a profile CL1200 on his stock alternator (1100rms watts). He's fine, IF you do have any problems...i'd replace your stock battery with an Optima! peace

Thanks for the reply.

Now what kind of wire does he have running in there ???

Since I'm, only runnning 1 amp now, I have the 4g running straight to one AMP.

Could I possibly split the 4g and use 2 8g to the AMPS ??(I don't think I will go this route)

I was thinking of splitting the 4g and use 2 4g running to the AMP. Would this be OK ??

Or do I need bigger wire(as in 2g or 0g) in order to split it and use 2 4g to the AMPS.

He has 4 awg from the battery up front, and 4 awg goes to the CL1200 amp and 8awg goes to the CL400 amp.

4 awg will work fine in your case!

if your looking for a bigger profile amp ill sell it to u cheap. cl1200 900 watts rms for $115:veryhapp:
Thats a great price since I'll pay more than that for a CL800 but the CL1200 is a monster.

Its like 24"+ in length.

The CL800 is about 15"+ and that will barely fit under the seats.

I swear this is the last question.

So I can use the existing 4g from the battery, hook it up to a distrubution block and have 2 4g running to the AMPS ??

I'd split to a couple 8's.

I've got 4 to 8's with 2 under-rated amps. A 700w class D and a 380w class a/b.

Works perfectly - almost immeasurable voltage drop - no noise -- been like this for about 6 mo.
