Will mine get much louder?

I got two Type R 12's in my Jeep, they are pretty loud for what it is....

They're in a 3.5 cube sealed box on bout 400rms, is it worth it to get a 4.5 cube ported box and put them on bout 1krms or will they get much louder than they are already?

Appreciate input just wondering if i should spend money getting stuff for these or just get some 15's lol

Bigger box= lower power handling. Meet in the middle, do 4.0 at 34-35 hz with about 1200rms. Should get very loud.

I want louder to ear, i care nothing for the meter since this is my daily setup....I just want something that gets insane to the ear and i can give good demos with....

1200rms with a 4 cube box at 32hz do good....

Shouldn't have to upgrade electrical much.

Not saying it's not loud now (I out hit all my buddies with their "2000 watt amps" and 12's in their ported prefabs lol, just wondering if this is as loud as it gets or will they get louder....

good question and very informative feedback on this thread! I like it!!! oh and nice set up. Even with the alpine amps, go ahead and go ported then upgrade power later. It will still be much louder with the amps you have eith the subs in a bigger ported box. just make sure to use the 12 to 16 sq inches of port area per cuft and youll be bangin.not the little 1 inch by 12 inch prefab slot boxes.
