will it be better if I got a capacitor or a new battery for the back of my vechicle

I've used caps 3 different times with desirable results every time.

It kept my voltage from dropping to 10.5v (13.5 w/ cap), thus keeping my amp from clipping.

Several people on here say that they will harm your electrical, so I'd do more research.

If you do decide to get one, though, get a good brand like RF or Stinger..And 2 farads

hmm thats funny, another member that was banned said the same exact thing you did, with the same voltage numbers.. hmm "Ace Ventura"? BAN!

I heard that capacitors pretect the subs and amp but do I really need one or should a battery work better. The amp is rated at 1800 watts. And what does a capacitor really do?
Get the battery, the reserve power an extra battery carries will be far more than a capacitor can deliver.

A capacitor with send small burst of power to your amplifier for a short time.

A extra battery will help stabilize the power supply to the amplifier.

A cap is useless in a car audio system.
