i got a stock battery under hood and without my system hooked up its only at like 13.1volts... seems odd.. did the interstate test and the alt and battery is fine.. just seeing if i did a yellow top under hood and big 3 if that will get me up in the 14 volt range? thanks tim

yeah thats what i was thinking... it should be around 13.5-14.1 but with nothing hooked up it like a little over 13volts.. and my dad runs a shop and we did this interstate battery test where it test the battery and alt and they were both fine! so i dunno.. id like to be at 14 volts before i hook my system back up

if the batt is in good shape, big 3 first, and then new/better batt....

edit: my passport is at 14.7 idle, and 14.5 with a sustained note...(big 3 and 1/0 to the rear and a brand new battery) with the stock alternator

its a stock shitty battery so i wanna upgrade battery under the hood anyways cause im going to run a kinetik 2400 in back.. but would like to be around 14 volts before hooking the system back up! LOL

I think running 2400 is too much for a stock electrical you might want start saving for an Alt I thinking its usually around 1000 rms or a bit more that ppl recommend for stock , bc I don't think big 3 and battery can compensate for that much power

An AGM battery will deff help you keep your voltage up, along with the big3 as said. If you are looking for a good deal on a battery i currently have a 10% discount for Deka Intimidators at remybattery.com , let me know if you want the code for the 10% and i will send it to you via pm... It is good for Their whole intimidator line so you could get a 9A31, 9A34... ect

i got my remote wire on a toggle switch so i dont listen to bass constently.. only when other wanna hear it.. i got a 2 year old stock battery under hood and it sits at like 13.1-13.3 volts at idle.... this is with no system hooked up... and when i did have my kinetik 2400 in back hooked up it would stay at 13.3ish too..lol so before i hook my system back up i wanna have 14 volts to work with..lol

Thats smart, I have my remote on switch too, a 13W7 with a stock system is WAY overpowering so unless I want to blow my head off I just have it off. I did the big 3 as well on my Escalade and its weird, my lights dim AFTER doing the upgrade when they didn't before??? I'm still scratching my head about that one.

a stock electrical should sit from 13-14 volts.. so u think by taking out the 2 year old battery and putting a brand new yellow top and big 3 it should bring it close to 14?
