Will Avic N2 fit in ’02 Monte Carlo?

Ok, I went to a local stero shop and I asked how much to install a AVIC N2 in my 2002 Monte Carlo. They told me it would fit in there, but the screen would not be able to be viewed fully becauseof the clearance of right above the cd player. They said because the dash is there, it will not fully open, and like rest back. Can someone tell me if it will be alright in a Monte? Thanks!
